My dish washing gloves whose brand I can’t recall.
TL;DR
They’re dope! Finally, a pair that I can work with. 😊
Quick Intro
There’s really not too much to say here. People use dishes. After they use them, they have to wash them. For reasons that I’m still not 100% clear on, my mother does not use her perfectly fine, God-given dishwasher; therefore, I’m forced to wash them by hand. Classic first-world problem.
My Goal
I love doing things with my hands but washing dishes is not one of them. I aim to make the entire process seem like it’s not happening at all, if we’re being honest. To do this, I blast music and dance while I clean. Keeping my hands/arms from getting wet helps me to accomplish a sense of “this isn’t happening” as well.
Outside of being a drama queen about it, there’s the desire to keep my manicure (if I happen to have one) intact. I also really dislike how dry my hands feel after it’s all said and done — this is where the gloves come in.
My Experience
In the past, I’ve tried out a few gloves to help me with cleaning tasks; however, many of them didn’t fit well enough for me to feel as though I could be effective in my cleaning while using them. There’s also the annoying sensation of liquid eventually running down my arms that I just couldn’t seem to avoid. So, I gave up on them altogether after trying out a few.
Around 4 or so months ago, my mom brought these babies home for me:
The glove that ruled them all.
Not only do they fit well enough but they do as they claim — water may run down but it never touches my skin.
I also have a thing about touching any food remnants (big or small) that end up in the sink, so removing debris that gets caught in the strainer isn’t the greatest experience for me (cringing just thinking about it). I am damn near invincible when I have the gloves on though! 😏 As silly as it sounds, they’re actually pretty empowering for me.
Dope or Dead?
They are obviously dope to me. I don’t think I can go any further into it without belaboring the point but each time I do the dishes, you best believe I’m wearing these.
To be clear — I don’t enjoy doing dishes any more than I did before I had the gloves; however, I do find the chore to be less “painful” than it was without them and that is a small piece of satisfaction that I will happily take.
